The Ann & Doc McCluskey Tennis Complex offers ten har-tru, green clay courts and six newly refinished plexipave courts. Matchmate ball machines are available for rental. The C. Leon Pitts Tennis Center houses a fully stocked pro shop, restroom facilities, and a water bottle fill-up station.

The complex was dedicated on April 28, 2004. Ann and Doc McCluskey were avid local tennis players who inspired, challenged, and promoted the game of a lifetime. Their enthusiasm remains a model for our commitment to growing tennis in Troup County.

The Facility

Clay Courts

The clay courts are open year round provided the weather is dry enough and temperatures don’t dip below freezing.

They are comprised of HAR-TRU, natural green stone from the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains. The extremely hard, angular stone forms a stable playing surface with exceptional durability and the color improves visibility on the court. HAR-TRU remains 10–15 degrees cooler than hard courts, providing a more comfortable playing experience, especially in hot Georgia weather.

The courts are fastidiously swept and brushed, rolled, and top-dressed with new clay. A subsurface irrigation system maintains the optimal moisture content.

Use of the clay courts is included in facility membership and the public may use the clay courts for a nominal fee. They are available to use during all operating hours, players will just need to sign in for use at the pro shop.

Hard Courts

The hard courts are free to the public and available to use during facility operating hours.

The hard courts were newly refinished with a Plexipave® surface in the summer of 2024. It is the industry leader of athletic surfacing systems and used in many high profile tennis events including the Australian Open from 2008 to 2019 and the BNP Paribas Open.

The hard courts are a green background with a blue court and white lines making for a visually enhanced and enjoyable playing experience.
