CHATA was established in 2003 and is based in LaGrange, Georgia.

CHATA is dedicated to the promotion, development, growth and support of tennis in the Chattahoochee area which includes Troup, Heard & Meriweather counties. CHATA's mission is to promote the development of tennis as a means of healthful recreation and physical fitness for all West Georgia residents in cooperation with the USTA and all surrounding tennis partners.

It currently has over 250 members throughout the Chattahoochee Valley area.

This non-profit organization is recognized by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) as the area's official Community Tennis Association. It is located at the Ann and Doc McCluskey Tennis Center.
